So your big day is coming up and your loved ones
are coming to town to celebrate with you. We know they’ll have a fabulous time
at your wedding celebration but what about before and after the big day? Lucky
for you, we’ve compiled a list of all the cool spots around Midtown that they can visit and explore!
1.) Atlanta Botanical Gardens
About a
mile and a half from The Peachtree Club is the gorgeous Atlanta Botanical
Gardens. The Atlanta Botanical Gardens is a 30 acre botanical garden located
adjacent from Piedmont Park. You can wander around the garden observing all the
unique and exotic plant life or you can hop on a guided tour and get the full
scoop on all the different species of flora around the garden. It's a great place to get your nature and fresh air fix in a bustling city.

High
Museum of Art:
If you’re like me, nothing suits
your fancy more than wandering through an art museum. You and your family can
visit the High Museum of Art, located on Peachtree Street about a mile from The
Peachtree Club! The High is the leading art museum in the Southeast; their
permanent collection contains more than 15,000 works and several rotating
exhibitions.

Margaret
Mitchell House:
Ever read Gone with the Wind?
The writer of the famous, southern classic,
Margaret Mitchell, lived right here in Atlanta. The Margaret Mitchell House sits
off of Peachtree Street on Crescent Avenue, across the street from The
Peachtree Club and the Midtown MARTA station. This is a great spot for your
guest of all ages to visit and get a little southern history lesson. Take a
tour through Apartment No. 1 and see where the famous writer lived and drew inspiration.

Center
for Puppetry Arts:
One
of the more unique spots to visit in Midtown is the Center for Puppetry Arts. Don’t
be fooled, this place is more than a fun spot for kids, adults love it too! You
can see all your childhood favorites and some new characters you’ve never seen
before. You can tour through the museum or make your own puppet in the
workshop! The Center for Puppetry Arts is
conveniently located in Midtown at the corner of Spring and 18th Street. It’s a
short walk from Arts Center MARTA station, but they do offer limited, free
parking.

Empire
State South
Looking for some good ol’ southern
food with a sophisticated twist? Located right here on the ground floor of the
999 building on Peachtree Street is Empire State South. They take everything we
love about authentic southern food and modernize it. It’s a great place to come
relax and get to know the building where your wedding will be held. Their
wide variety of southern dishes will be a real crowd pleaser among your
friends and family!

Orpheus
Brewing
Beer lovers rejoice! Orpheus
Brewing is serving up the best sours and saisons in Atlanta! Haven’t you always
wanted to sip on a nice cold beer while they show you how it’s made? If so,
this is definitely the place for you and your guests to go! Just pay for a tour
and get a souvenir glass and belly full of beer. Orpheus Brewing is conveniently
located about 2 miles from The Peachtree Club!
7.)
Fox
Theatre
So maybe a brewery just isn’t your
thing and you want something a little more on the entertainment side. Luckily
Midtown Atlanta is home to the historic Fox Theatre. The Fox Theatre was built
in the 1920s and has been the host of thousands of plays, movies, rallies, concerts,
and much more! It’s located on Peachtree Street about half a mile from The
Peachtree Club.

National
Center for Civic and Human Rights
Atlanta is known as the cradle of
the Civil Rights movement and the birthplace of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The
National Center for Civic and Human Rights is a
museum dedicated to these achievements. It’s a great opportunity for you and your guests to learn about the role the City of Atlanta played in this movement. It’s only two MARTA
stops down from The Peachtree Club.
9.)
The
Vortex
The Vortex is one of the most
popular spots to visit in Atlanta to grab a beer and a burger. Pop in to eat
some of their strange but delicious burgers and take a peek at the eclectic art
work around the restaurant. The iconic “Laughing Skull” outside the restaurant
has become an Atlanta monument you can’t miss. There are two locations, one in Midtown and the other in Little 5 Points.

The
Flying Biscuit
Ask anyone around town where a good
brunch spot is and more than likely The Flying Biscuit will be on the list. The
Flying Biscuit is serving up all your southern brunch favorites along with
lunch and dinner! Their superb biscuits and grits won’t disappoint and the best
part is that it’s only 2 blocks from The Peachtree Club!
