One month ago, I had absolutely no idea what this next year looked like for me. I would have been thrilled to know that just a few short weeks after graduating college, I am working alongside weddings and events at The Peachtree Club. It is an ideal fit. People are my passion. I live for intentional relationships and there is nothing I would rather do than assist in fulfilling visions for sweet and memorable occasions.
This was not the original opportunity I had planned for, but so much better. I studied Mass Communication at Georgia College and State University in the charming city of Milledgeville, Ga. where, at first, I wanted to pursue a career in journalism. After quickly discovering that I did not enjoy brief and objective writing, I started taking classes with a focus on the public relations field. I worked weekends as a waitress to make a little cash and joined multiple campus organizations to gain more communication experience. Much of this experience developed into event coordination, and while PR and events go hand-in-hand, I was sold to event planning. However, I am still able to use much of my communication skills in my new position – yay!
My job at the Club is not the only exciting thing happening right now. I recently got engaged and will be getting married in July 2016! I met Trent, my fiancé, in our hometown of Loganville, Ga. and we will be moving closer to the Atlanta Midtown scene within the next few months. I am cherishing this special time not only on a personal level, but also because I am at the same stage of all of the brides that walk through our doors. I relate so well with the thought process of choosing where to have the wedding, what do I want it to look like, how am I going to get everything done, etc. It can be stressful, but I strongly believe that more than anything, it should be joyful. I will do my best to walk alongside brides implementing that belief and I cannot wait to help them achieve their big day!
A few random fun facts about me: I have a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel baby named Toby. I’m a die-hard Georgia dawg. Sweet tea-holic. Road trip junkie.
